This Sunday, Gwen opened our series by looking what Colossians 1 reveals about Jesus being first in everything – globally as the Gospel is increasing and bearing fruit around the world and individually as the Holy Spirit is at work within us to bring every aspect of our lives under the Kingship of Jesus (that He would be first in everything!) As we make space to dig into Colossians this month, she encouraged us to read deeper rather than read more, to stop and respond to the Word as He stirs our hearts and minds with His truth.
Pentecost is the day we remember when the Holy Spirit fell on believers for the first time. But it was only the first fruit of what is now to come for us today. In this week’s message Pastor Chris explored why we need the Holy Spirit today, and how to live it out.
We continued our Great Beyond series this week as Chris spoke about the Judgement Seat of Christ. For most of us when we hear the word judgement we can tend to get intimidated or afraid. We worry about being judged and losing out. But this event, that all followers of Jesus will face, is not a time to be feared but a time to be anticipated. (more…)
This week Gwen looked at what the Bible says about Heaven (the place where God chooses to dwell), the resurrection of the dead and our eternal lives. Looking back at Genesis 1 & 2, we see that we were created to be in perfect, unbroken relationship with God, each other and the earth created for us. But the effect of our disobedience and rebellion against God’s authority brought all creation under the curse of death. (more…)
Pastor Chris talked this Easter about finding the living among the dead. Early on the first Sunday women went to Jesus’ tomb looking for him, but were told he wasn’t there. So often in our lives, we are looking for life, but we are looking for it among the dead.
This week Chris unpacked the Palm Sunday story found in John’s gospel. The story of Palm Sunday is both beautiful and tragic. The beauty of the story is in the way the people received Jesus as their king as he entered into Jerusalem. (more…)
This week Chris interviewed Antioch Overseers, Dean & Tamara Roberts on the subject of marriage. While this was a marriage specific topic, something we believe is a critical topic. You could very easily apply each of the questions they discussed too many different types of relationships we each have. Whether you married or not, you encounter God’s heart for thriving relationships.
